It actually gets more hours of shining sunlight than the Canary Islands. Costa del Sol sees about 2905 hours of sun each year, while the Canaries only about 2822.

The province of Malaga in Spain’s Andalusia region has several tourist hotspots out of which Benalmadena is as major attraction.
It comprises of three urban areas – Benalmadena Pueblo, Arroyo de la Miel and Benalmadena Costa.
In the recent years, Benalmadena Costa has grown rapidly owing to an influx of tourists, which
is why it now ranks as a prime destination in Costa del Sol region.
Benalmadena Costa has plenty of golden sandy beaches on you can enjoy some amazing vistas of the Mediterranean Sea. The relaxed atmosphere is sure to soothe your mind while to savor your taste buds you can head to any of the restaurants near the beach.
In Benalmadena Costa, the promenade stretches by the side of the coast to Marine Port, where you will find several options for shopping and dining.

La Paloma Park is located right in the center of Benalmadena Costa which has impressive flora and fauna and is worth a visit for a close encounter with a menagerie of goats, rabbits and exotic birds.
Right next to La Paloma Park is the Selwo Marina, dolfinarium, where you can get a glimpse of marine wildlife. A penguin habitation has become the new attraction.
Linking Benalmadena Costa to Pueblo is the pretty Arroyo de la Miel, a lively village. For a panoramic view of the seafront you can use the cable cars that link Benalmadena to the nearby beaches.

Celebrate San Juan with the Spanish. San Juan is a festival celebrated on June 23rd, a magical night that welcomes the summer season. The celebration takes place during the shortest night of the year; the summer solstice. It is a celebration that is usually held on the beach with roaring bonfires, drinks, food and friends. Legends, tradition and magical rituals are connected by a common elements: fire and water.
Kite –Surfing
For those of you looking for a real adventure and unique experience, we recommend you take a drive down to Tarifa on the Atlantic coast. Approximately 2 hours drive from Benalmadena, Tarifa is the Kite Surf capital of Europe; here you’ll be able to have lessons and rent the equipment necessary to experience this exhilarating sport!

Semana-Santa
(Holy Week) is celebrated in every corner of Spain by the Catholic community. The streets of big cities and small villages become the stage for religious devotion. Holy Week features processions (las procesiones) which are large groups of people walking in a ceremonial manner, following religious wooden sculptures. Sometimes people walk barefoot carrying large candles. The processions are organized during the whole year by members of brotherhoods (las hermandades).

We’re spoilt for choice when it comes to street markets on the Costa del Sol. From Monday to Sunday, there’s always a street market nearby for you to visit; browse the colourful stalls and pick up some fantastic gifts and souvenirs.
Walk along the Promenade
Whether you go for an early morning brisk walk as part of your exercise regime or a romantic evening stroll with a loved one, the Benalmadena promenade is the perfect place! You’ve got plenty of great bars and restaurants along the way to indulge in a cool beer and a typical Spanish tapa!
Xtreme Power Boat Ride

Our neighbouring town of Fuengirola has one of the best Zoos in Spain. It’s called Bioparc Fuengirola and you’ll be able to see all sorts of fascinating animals and creatures: From Silver Back Gorillas to Baby Hippos…
